Since 1979, Melissa has redefined what a shoe can be, turning plastic into high fashion with its jelly designs and collaborations with names like Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Porto Rocha partnered with the brand on two projects that became the base of a wider evolution, and I was invited to take part in both. The first was a monogram for a new tier of products: two mirrored M's, soft on the inside like the jelly material and sharp on the outside, adaptable as an emblem, a pattern or even a product form. The second was Melissa Station, the 2024 global campaign, inspired by subway systems and transit signage, which I expanded into five campaigns: Collection Release, St. John's Holiday, Hits, Children's Day and Holidays, each with its own visual language.
